Mixed-media Collages

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Living with an over-active magpie mind, I have found collage and mixed media the perfect mediums to express my varied interests in society, environment, history, politics, and pop culture.
During the 70s and 80s I was busy with posters, 'zines and record covers under the name of Domino, making artwork by mixing images from paper-cuttings, photos, copy-art, stamping, and found materials. Today I still enjoy the
unexpected results of combining random images, textures and materials to create new images.
Meaningful content, symbolism, colour and aesthetics are important to me, combined with humour, commentary, disturbance and spirituality. My primary influences are Dada and Surrealism, John Heartfield, Barbara Kruger, John Stezaker and Josep Renau, as well as the many unsung artists of late 20th century culture whose world I inhabit.
